O'Brien Retires From Football
Brunswick captain coach Daryl O'Brien, left, has played his last game
of football and may never coach again.
He announced his retirement immediately after Brunswick lost the Second Division Grand Final last Sunday week. But not only because the Magpies were beaten. Win, lose or draw, it would have been the same.
O'Brien, 32, made up his mind weeks ago that last season was to be his last.
"I have had enough of football," said O'Brien, the former North Melbourne utility player. "I have been promoted in my job and can no longer afford the time."
O'Brien works in real estate.
